A new quartet comprising of highly experienced musicians is being seen around the local band scene as a next big act, with their original songs getting fan adulation ahead of their debut album’s release. The group is called Aurora while its members are all tried and tested sessionists that give it the built-in edge as far as stage performing and music understanding are concerned.

The four-piece ensemble is about to release its first album called "Praise and Promises of 2007". Their carrier single "Kamay" is already being heard over NU 107 and other FM stations. The anthemic number has the makings of a radio hit with its topic of a boy’s dream to become a musician.

Their 12-track album is produced by Soupstar Music with head guy Darwin Hernandez finding their music beaming with recall and promise. "Melodic ‘yung songs nila nung narinig ko sa demo. And yung style nila is different," noted Hernandez when asked what attracted him to the band.

The band is fronted by vocalist Franco Amparo whose versatility as a musician enables him to play guitar, piano, trumpet, drums and violin. The rest are music majors who have played for other acts, with lead guitarist Philip Queycuep having done shows with Ogie Alcasid and Guji Lorenzana, drummer Kyle Pocallan tapped skins with Gloc9, Luke Mejares, and Malik, and bass player Cookie Taylo slapped bass strings for Lani Misalucha, 6Cyclemind, and others. These guys also teach music as they continue their sessionists’ trade during free time.
