Titik Pilipino is the Online Resource for Filipino Songs providing you with purely OPM song-related material. Striving to present you with the most comprehensive OPM song list, album and artist information, we truly believe that Original Pilipino Music is the best there is.
Many of you may have been wondering which artist sang this bouncy and infectious track that has been burning the airwaves and even became the theme song of a popular reality game show.
It's none other than J Brothers, the same trio that popularized sentimental hits Dear Ana, Sana'y Bigyan Mo Ng Pansin, Wait For Me, Labanan Ang Tukso, Sorry Mahal and Miss Kita among others. After taking a hiatus in the music scene, brothers Joy, Jay and Jim Jimenez are finally back with a new album "Pasaway" featuring the hit single of the same title.
"Pasaway" meaning an indolent person, is a popular byword among Filipinos nowadays and this inspired J Brothers to write a song about them. "This song is about people who waste their time doing nothing while others are working so hard," Jay said.
Unlike their previous albums, all songs in their new album except for one were composed by J Brothers. "We are proud of 'Pasaway' because we feel this will showcase our maturity as artists and as songwriters" Joy commented. "It has a wider variation with its combination of reggae, acoustic, fast numbers and love songs."
Aside from the heavily-played track "Pasaway", cuts to look forward to are Bahala Ka, Three Words, Reasons Why, Forever Girl, Turn Out All The Same, Three Words, Let It Be You, Run To Win and Just Alright.
J Brothers easily established their status as one of the biggest acts in Philippine music with their talent and crowd-pleasing charisma. Prior to forming of the group, they did illustrations for comic books, worked with the Graphic Arts Services, Inc. (GASI) for some time, then joined the Philippine Animation Studio drawing for Fantastic Four, X-Men, Biker, Mice from Mars, and eventually their very own Exodus. They are now connected with PSICOM drawing alamat illustrations and coloring books.
"Pasaway" is now available in CDs and cassettes at your favorite record bars nationwide under BMG Records Pilipinas and online via Titik Pilipino.
