Every two years, MTV Philippines searches for the country's newest and most unique personalities who are brave enough to battle it out for the chance to join the ranks of MTV VJs KC Montero, Sarah Meier, Marc Abaya, Cindy Kurleto, Maike Evers, Cesca Litton, Reema Chanco, John Joe Joseph, Mariel Rodriguez, and those that came before them-Donita Rose, Mike Kasem, Nadya Hutagalung, and Francis M., among others-through the original VJ search: the MTV VJ Hunt, which is exclusively presented this year by Addict Mobile Prepaid. This year, MTV is looking for four new VJs-and you can be one of them!

Two decades ago, MTV, the world's largest television network, introduced a term that soon became a staple in everyone's vocabulary: VJ or Video Jock. From the moment they first appeared on TV screens, the MTV VJs instantly became pop culture icons. Shortly after, other television networks started labeling their hosts as VJs as well. Video jocks, apart from being regular show hosts, were expected to be iconic characters on-screen, with larger-than-life personas. They were trendsetters with hip, cool, and irreverent personalities-characteristics that could only be attributed to the coolest TV channel that started it all: MTV.
