Dingdong Avanzado started to become popular in the late 80s as a teen pop vocalist through his songs Tatlong Beinte-Singko, Maghihintay Sa'yo, Bakit Labis Kitang Mahal, Basta't Kasama Kita and many others. A certified hitmaker, he is a recipient of numerous record awards both as a singer and a composer. A product of La Salle Greenhills' Kundirana, Dingdong has acquired the songwriting talent that mesmerized a lot of love song enthusiasts -- a fact that turned him to a multi-platinum singer-songwriter. One of his compositions, Paalam Na, collaboration with Rachel Alejandro, has become a classic in the local music scene. His rendition of Sharon Cuneta's To Love Again and Gloria Estefan's Anything for You received favorable response among radio listeners.

At the moment, the local music industry lacks male vocalists of high caliber. Sure we have Martin Nievera, Gary Valenciano, and Ogie Alcasid. But there seems to be a missing link between these male vocalists; something like an element missing to complete the DNA Helix needed to reincarnate the good old days of Philippine pop. Coming up with a Dingdong Avanzado album after being away from the music industry for some time, is like giving the listening public some sort of a musical déjà vu.

Teens and tweens during the Tatlong Beinte-Singko days are now young professionals who have been missing the Dingdong sound. It is worth noting that Dingdong still has that magical romance in his songs and still has that youthful appeal; just like what he had as a boy-next-door heartthrob in the 90s. The fact that his old followers are still there is a very good clue in considering producing a new album for Dingdong.

His new album under Star Records called Here to Stay contains a mix of songs that can be aptly described as songs that are here to stay because of their timeless quality and sound. The album includes eleven tracks featuring Love Is Here To Stay, his rendition of Paalam Na, and the latest single Walang Kapalit, among others. Walang Kapalit is a big hit on radio and is one of the most played and requested songs in the airwaves to date.

Dingdong's musical genius and romantic appeal plus the public's thirst for genuinely excellent love songs make Here To Stay a surefire hit. Indeed, Dingdong is back… and he's here to stay!
